Hospitalist & Resusitationist 2023 has ended
HR2023 is a cutting edge acute care medicine conference that will give you the latest in evidence based, physiology informed practice. In this hybrid format (online + in-person) there are two tracks for the conference (you choose live which one you want to attend!). One is focused on hospitalist medicine and the other on resuscitation. Both come with a world-class speakers, practical physiology, and workshops.

HR2023 runs September 28th and 29th at the Montreal Heart Institute, with pre and post conferences on the 27th and 30th of September. If you can’t make it in-person, register for the online-only option to access dozens of high-quality pre-recorded lectures, and then also zoom into the conference live on the days of.

On the "Schedule" tab of this website, you will find the core-conference program, but you can discover the amazing pre-conference lectures offered online, in the "Pre-Conference Material" tab.

Philip Edgcumbe

MD, PhD, Radiology Resident
Dr. Philip Edgcumbe (BASC, MD, PhD) is a UBC radiology resident and a fellow in the UBC Clinician Investigator Program. Philip's massively transformative purpose is to create healthcare abundance and deep medicine.  

His previous experience includes inventing, patenting, and licensing an augmented-reality navigational aid for surgical navigations and co-founding two biomedical start-up companies. In 2017, he worked for the XPRIZE Foundation in Los Angeles where he led the development of the Alzheimer’s XPRIZE, a global, crowd-sourcing competition to end Alzheimer’s. In 2018-2019 he served as the Innovator-in-Residence for the Canadian Medical Association Innovation Lab. He is the co-founder and board member of the Collective Open Source Medical Innovations for COVID19 (COSMIC - www.cosmicmedical.ca) and shares his experience as a healthcare innovator and his perspectives on the future of healthcare as a Singularity University faculty member. 

His previous award include he Outstanding Young Scientist at the 2014 Medical Image Computing and Computer-Assisted Intervention Conference (MICCAI). More recently he received awards for leadership (Canadian Medical Hall of Fame, Canadian Medical Association (CMA) Young Leader; CFMS-MD Financial Management) and innovation (Joule Emerging Physician Innovator).
